Sweet and Sour Brisket


1 2-4 lb Brisket(1st or 2nd cut) 

1/2 cup ketchup 

1/2 cup red wine 

1/2 cup orange juice 

1 medium onion, cut in half & sliced 

Salt & pepper 


  1. Preheat oven at 300
  2. Season brisket with salt & pepper.
  3. In a hot pan, sear brisket on both sides until it gets some color.
  4. Mix, ketchup, wine & orange juice.
  5. Place brisket on an oven safe pan and sprinkle onion on top.
  6. Then pour sauce.
  7. Cover tightly with foil.
  8. Bake around 4 hours or until brisket is soft, easily pierced with a fork.
  9. Let cool, the refrigerate for at least an hour for easier slicing.
  10. Slice thinly against the grain and reheat before serving.
